Near the hospitals

Staying near someone in hospital.

The Paramus rooms are in Bergen County, which is where several of the area hospitals are. If you are visiting someone daily, a room is usually a better shape than a hotel and a better price than one too.

Why a room rather than a hotel

Visiting somebody is not a vacation, and the stay is usually longer.

People sitting with a relative tend to need somewhere for weeks. A kitchen matters more than a lobby, and being able to do laundry matters more than a gym.

These are private rooms in a house in Paramus, Bergen County, with a 31-night minimum stay. There is no shorter option, here or anywhere on this site.

How monthly stays work

Which hospital

Paramus sits in Bergen County, within the usual daily-visiting range of the county hospitals, including The Valley Hospital in Paramus, Hackensack University Medical Center, Holy Name in Teaneck and Englewood Health.

Ask and she will tell you the actual drive from the house to the hospital you need, rather than you working it out from a map. Traffic here makes the straight-line distance close to meaningless.

Questions

Asked by people visiting somebody.

How far is it from the hospital?

Ask, and she will tell you the real drive rather than a straight line. The rooms are in Paramus, in Bergen County, where several of the area hospitals are.

Can I stay for a month?

Yes. Extended stays are offered with flexible options and a monthly rate exists, which for a long visit is the number that matters.

Is any kind of care provided?

No. None at all. BerkelMD Homes is a lodging business. What you book is a room, a bed, a kitchen and a door that locks, and nothing about a stay here is medical.

Can I cook and do laundry?

Kitchen access is on her published amenity list, and in Paramus the kitchen is shared. Laundry is not on that list, so ask before you book if you need it.

Can two of us stay?

Four of the five Paramus rooms take one guest. One suite takes two. The Los Angeles apartment sleeps five, but that is in California.
